TeachMeet08 Northern Edition

Don’t forget to keep the night of Tuesday 19th February free! You are all cordially invited to take part in the first TeachMeet to break out of the Central Lowlands: TeachMeetPerth08.The format is informal and fun… I’m working on sponsorship for some wine and nibbles (any help or suggestions for possible sponsors would be great!), and we have he promise of an even more informal session afterwards in one of Perth’s fine restaurants!

As in previous TeachMeets, we will have a variety of different speakers, and hope to cover all sorts of new and exciting uses of technology on the night…If you want to know more, keep watching this space and sign up to the wiki and get involved!

PS: If you don’t want to sign up at the wiki, you can send an email to: teachmeetperth {at} gmail {dot} com and I’ll do it for you!

It’s shaping up to be a good one…

3. Vikki - February 4, 2008

See you there! I have been spreading the word, bringing a few folks.

4. Vikki - February 4, 2008

What time does it start?

5. Louise Jones - February 10, 2008

Hi Neil,

I can’t wait for this event! Coming down with Jim Henderson from Highland. I also now have my own blod louisejones.edublogs.org please have a look and let me know what you think.

Really looking forward to seeing you all again, I think it’s quite funny how I only met you all for such a short time in Glasgow, but seriously this kind of CPD really inspires people!

See you in Perth!

Hi stranger,
Am just about to book a hotel and would like an idea of timings. Is there anything else going on in the day, that might be of interest, too?

7. Mr W - February 10, 2008

Hi every one! Sorry for the delay in replying… things have been somewhat hectic @ Chez Mr W!

@Vikki – Kick off is at 6:30 but you can arrive earlier and have a natter… the bar will be open! I’ll be there more or less straight after school/INSET day so feel free to drop in.

@Louise – Yay! Looking forward to seeing you again… we still haven’t resolved our lack of Gaelic teacher situation… I’ll tell you about it when you get here.

@Marlyn – Hello yourself! We’ve got an INSET so you’d be very welcome to come and gate-crash! I’m doing introductory sessions on some Web2.0 tools (as in, “These are 2 or 3 tools that I use in class… you might like to try them” sessions)… or I could put you in touch with some of my Primary colleagues if you wanted to network with them… or you can visit the sites of Perth (though what you’ll do for the rest of the day is a moot point ;) ). You can email me directly if you want to sort something out…

And to everyone else… One of the real joys and strengths of TeachMeets is the meeting up of enthusiastic and skilled practitioners… We all learn something new and we all make great contacts… So hurry up and sign up soon!
