Ring Out for ACE…

November 16, 2006

Big things are happening in PKC today (Thursday). All the secondary teachers in PKC (700+) are meeting up at Bell’s Sports Centre for a morning session to officially introduce/launch A Curriculum for Excellence (ACE). I’ve managed to claim some peripheral input as one of my debators is taking part in the introductory phase in a mini-debate on the motion: “This house would scrap Scottish Education and start again”.

As well as sessions by Stuart Powell, PKC’s Executive Director of Education and Chris Webb, PKC’s Head of Education Service, we will be having a keynote presentation by Prof Brian Boyd of Strathclyde University.

http://pkcace.wikispaces.com/Given my interest in ACE, I’m actually looking forward to the session and might blog it later. In the meantime, I’ve set up a wiki for the PKC staff to use after the session to discuss what they’ve heard… just one of the many things I have to thank East Lothian for!

If you want to have a look at the wiki, it’s at http://PKCACE.wikispaces.com. I’ll try to fill it up with as much info as possible in the afternoon.
