Some people just don’t understand blogging…

November 30, 2006

Aye, that'll be right...BBC NEWS | Politics | Voluntary code for blogs ‘needed’

If it wasn’t for the fact that the current UK government are so insistent on controlling every aspect of our lives, we could laugh this one off. Actually, I’m going to laugh at them anyway.

It’s not the threat of legislation that is funny, it is the complete lack of understanding of the technology that underpins social networking (or Web2.0) phenomenon. Legislate against bloggers? Do the words ‘Canute’, ‘King’ and ‘sea’ mean anything to anyone in Government?

The only thing funnier than this at the moment is the David Cameron blog (and no, I’m not linking to it for fear of making them think they are doing something that’ll keep them ‘in touch’ with the voters!)…

Generally speaking, I try to avoid talking about politics… so I’m going to file this one under humour.
