School Website Down (Temporarily!)

December 20, 2007

Broken WebThis is just a quick note for users of my school’s  website and blogs! We are currently transferring ownership of the school’s website to the school and so are going to be offline for a few hours while this takes place. The school blogs and other tools will also be offline for the duration. We hope to be back up and running sometime overnight, so please bear with us and accept my apologies for the ‘outage’.   Incidentally… I can highly recommend A Small Orange for hosting! Inexpensive, flexible, and with a full cPanel/fantastico backend! I’ll be moving this blog onto a dedicated ASO server sometime next year and can’t wait to play with all the tools!

Oh Rats… too late! But I’ll use it when I set up my own site next year!

It’s a pain waiting for the transfer to finish and the site to come back up…

Well consider yourself lucky this is 2007 and DNS issues are resolved pretty fast. I remember when I first got into running my websites and DNS could take up to 24 hours to resolve.

After 4 hours, it looks like this one is going to take a while as well!
Just going to have to go to bed… can’t wait any longer!

cPanel hosting and fantastico are the way to go and with blogs being all the rage a couple of clicks and you site has a blog, nice.

You are able to manage the back end of your web site much easier and quicker.

It looks like your transition went pretty well. KEWL!
